Audax Architecture, based in Toronto, is an award-winning architecture, interior design, and construction firm with a specialty in luxury real estate and a strong concentration on high-end residential design. Commercial and residential developers, celebrity chefs, restaurant and hospitality companies, and affluent homeowners are among the firm’s clients.
Audax Architecture offers its clients a holistic design approach that includes both architecture and interiors. Audax Architecture projects are diversified in design style, thanks to Gianpiero Pugliese’s creative direction. Human Architecture, a design concept developed by the studio that combines the best components of traditional architecture with a modern appearance, drives the firm’s work.
Audax Architecture has investigated and developed a design philosophy called Human Architecture as part of its culture, which serves as a solid foundation for its design work. The method combines the best features of a classic building with a contemporary look. Human Architecture arose from the conviction that many of traditional architecture’s best features were lost during the modern era, as well as the understanding that modern design is a popular aesthetic in our culture today.

Audax Architecture is able to reintroduce the tactile and human-scaled features that were lost with Modernism back into modern architecture by looking at the past through the perspective of Modernism. As a result, Audax’s design approach creates buildings and interior spaces that appeal to those who enjoy classic architecture’s warmth and craftsmanship while still appreciating modern design.
Audax is directing The Human Architecture Project, which comprises formal case studies showing the theory and researching new concepts and designs related to city development as part of a continuing examination of the philosophical framework.

Gianpiero has a Master of Architecture from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of California at Berkeley, and he leads all architectural, interior design, and construction activities at Audax Architecture.
He also studied architecture in Italy at the Venice Institute of Architecture. Gianpiero worked as a project architect before forming Audax and was responsible for the design of a number of large-scale, mixed-use developments across North America, including the Hullmark Corporate Centre in North Toronto.
At Audax Architecture, Gianpiero’s latest work examines the link between historic design principles and the modern aesthetic. This method, which he calls “Human Architecture,” tries to reintroduce tactile and human-scaled features into the current design that were lost during the modern era.
A luxury apartment building at the former Staples site in Toronto’s Rosedale district, Villa Cortile, a modern interpretation of a traditional Italian courtyard residence, the Chase Restaurant, and the Shops of Summerhill are among the notable developments.
