Edward Bulmer
–
Edward Bulmer is unique amongst interior designers in also being an architectural historian, ‘colourman’, eco-worrier and farmer! Today, Most Expensive Homes is going to show you everything you need to know about Edward Bulmer. Take a look:
Edward’s background is in architectural history, picture conservation and interior design – he currently heads a highly focused design team bringing traditional knowledge and environmental sensitivity to a range of private and commercial projects.
He has the depth of knowledge for evidence-based redecoration, careful conservation, and well-informed reinstatement but his aim is always to create a place to live in that works for its occupants, private, public or commercial.
Edward’s advice has been sought for projects in the royal palaces of Hampton Court and The Tower of London; at Goldsmiths Hall and The Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. He has redecorated rooms at Chequers and Chevening; buildings that are publicly owned and which play a part in the public life of our nation. Work has also encompassed historic courthouses, assembly rooms, parish churches, and catholic chapels.
For thirty years he has been involved with picture hanging and restoration and he takes a highly-nuanced approach to the interior design of art galleries, based on what can be learned from historic practice.
