The new Chanel flagship store in Beverly Hills is an impressive four-story, 30,000-square-foot space, making it the largest Chanel store in the United States. The store was designed by longtime Chanel collaborator Peter Marino, and it embodies Coco Chanel’s signature “less is more” approach to dressing.
The building’s exterior is a stack of all-white volumes cleaved by a central glazed atrium, while the interior is awash with references to the Parisian house, including a pared-back palette of black, white, and gray and a gigantic strand of pearls by artist Jean-Michel Othoniel that cascades from the atrium’s ceiling.
