Oscar Niemeyer was the inspiration for this house renovation in Australia. Luigi Rosselli Architects decide to pay an homage to the late Brazilian designer through this amazing home. Today, Most Expensive Homes presents you this 1963 incredible house, located in Australia, and its features.
The late Oscar Niemeyer was an amazing Brazilian architect that was a key figure to define the development of the modern architecture. He was an influent figure in this industry, that broke several borders for the sake of the future of architecture. In that in mind, Luigi Rosselli Architects decided to extend their homage towards this great architect.
Luigi Rosselli Architects discovered that the best way to pay their respects to Oscar Niemeyer was through inspiration of his own art. That was the turning point, where they embraced this project, and renovated this 1963 house, which was initially designed by George Reeves. With the purpose to develop a better connection with the outdoor/indoor, the architects incorporated Oscar’s style through a sculptural concrete awning at the entry.
One of the elements that also indicate Oscar Niemeyer‘s inspiration is obviously the abundance of the manicured greenery around the house. That excessive use of flora contrasts beautifully with the house that appears completely in an all-white minimalistic style. The bulkhead ceilings were saved and restored, still resembling to the late Brazilian architect.
In this Oscar Niemeyer‘s inspiration project, Dangar Barin Smith designed the outdoor landscape, having the purpose of establishing a tropical landscape. The outdoor area it’s meant to give you the feeling of an amazing holiday, while the indoor is connected through several and tall glass doors.
The indoors of this Oscar Niemeyer‘s homage was the responsibility of Alwill Interiors. Throughout the rooms within this house, there’s a minimalistic vibe demonstrated on the furniture, but with a Mid-Century twist. Geometry furniture and wooden elements are the key behind the interior design of this house that is inspired in Oscar Niemeyer.
