It’s right on Midtown Manhattan, that sits a luxurious apartment, with the most amazing view over the idilic Central Park. Most Expensive Homes presents you the One57, one of the most luxurious apartments available in the city that never sleeps, New York City.
Once known as Carnegie 57, this 90 story massive building is considered the “billionaire building”. Completed in 2014, One57 is located on 57th Street, in Midtown neighborhood, in Manhattan, next to the famous Central Park.
This unbelievable skyscraper was an architectural project of the French architect, Christian de Portzamparc and the interior design was the work of American designer, Thomas Juul-Hansen. The contrast between dark and light glass on the building’s exterior created vertical stripes, and also gives the chance to let the sunlight in.
Through its glass walls, the project’s purpose was to make the spaces look even larger and letting in more light, while the interiors are focused on a French Modern style. At One57, there’s an access to the amenities in the Park Hyatt hotel, but it is also possible to use the building’s own 20,000-square-foot amenities floor, complete with a pool, gym, library, and theater.
A penthouse duplex has more than 10,000-square-foot, and it includes six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, two powder rooms, a steam room, and marble baths. They’re also complete with 23-foot windows, that go from the ground to the ceiling, giving the best view over New York.
Along with the massive glass windows that give a perfect view, the One57 is also included with oversized doors. The whole building has been embellished with the best quality materials such as rosewood flooring in a French herringbone pattern or select rift-sawn white oak, slabs of Italian marble, and custom hardware and light fixtures.
