Norah Jones is selling her townhouse in the Cobble Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn for a cool $8 million. Join Most Expensive Homes and discover everything about this outstanding house!
Built in the 1800s, the five-bedroom, 4500-square-foot Greek Revival stunner features original ironwork, a revamped chef’s kitchen, a custom cocktail bar, and—the pièce de résistance—a heated lap pool and hot tub on the outdoor bluestone patio shaded by overhanging wisteria vines, an unheard-of amenity in New York City.
That’s not the only way this home differs from the rest. Unlike the neutral farmhouse-style homes most stars seem to favor, Jones’s 25-foot-wide residence is a reflection of the singer’s laid-back, natural aesthetic. The kitchen cabinetry and island is clad in rustic reclaimed wood and outfitted with an antique Garland stove and retro floor tiles, while the brick partition on the building’s two-story back elevation was replaced with a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows to flood the interior spaces with natural light. The master bedroom is just as unique, featuring a marble fireplace, a walk-in cedar closet, and a bathroom with a steam shower.
“It’s a very special, warm home,” Jones told The Wall Street Journal, who broke the story. “My hunt for a house with a yard began when I got my dog, Ralph….It always felt like an escape from city life. I started my family, made a lot of music, and had some truly magical times there.”
