Kelly Wearstler is famous for iconic projects she embraced for A-List Hollywood stars such as Cameron Diaz, Ben Stiller, Gwen Stefani, and many others. She proudly represents the Californian Deco, that incredibly meets the Modern Mid-Century style. Her incredible projects have been all over, whether in a residential, hospitality or even a commercial manner.
Her latest project is called the Proper Hotel, a luxurious hospitality project that’s located on Wilshire Boulevard, and close to the famous Santa Monica Pier. This hospitality project is divided into two distinct areas, a characteristic building of the Spanish colonial revival of the 1920s and a contemporary building with a monolithic spirit.
The visual beauty that the palms of that Pacific coast offer are the main inspiration for Kelly Wearstler’s exquisite project. From the lobby to the massive restaurant, there’s a warm palette that perfectly combines wood with organic and nature colors. Under the monumental arches and mosaic columns, a profusion of armchairs and sofas are there to bring you comfort and a luxury vibe.
In addition to the pieces, she designed herself, such as the sculptural headboards on each of the 271 rooms and suites, or her signature Roxbury graphic console – the interior designer also used local artists like Tanya Aguiñiga, Len Klikunas, Bradley Duncan, Ben Medansky or Morgan Peck.
There’s also an Ayurvedic spa, swimming pool, and bar perched on the rooftop complete to give this hotel the spirit of California cool that is incredible to feel whenever you’re enjoying the most fabulous holidays, on a designer hotel.
