When we enter the Marina Bay Sands, we are immediately taken by the hotel’s architectural concept and design, in an ample fresh space. We are in an integrated resort fronting Marina Bay in Singapore.
Developed by Las Vegas Sands (LVS), the property has a hotel, convention and exhibition facilities, theatres, entertainment venues, retailers, restaurants, a museum and even a casino, which make it the world’s second most expensive building (The first one is Abraj Al-Bait Towers, ina) Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
The resort is getting five years old this April.
Interior Design Inspirations
From its outside, the three towers building is reminiscent of a card deck, which had Moshe Safdie leading the design on this massive project.
Standing on the balcony of a 50th floor room, we are invited to lose our breath with the city-skyline over Marina Bay and the downtown Singapore with the sea as a backdrop. A modern and inviting style involves us as we are walking through the room and corridors. And if we go up a little more, until the last floor of the building, we can find one of the world’s most amazing hotel rooftop pools.
Las Vegas Sands declared the undertaking as “one of the world’s most challenging construction projects and certainly the most expensive stand-alone integrated resort property ever built”. It expects the casino to generate at least $1 billion in annual profit. Two months after the initial phased opening, the casino attracts around 25,000 visitors daily.
Infinity Edge Swimming Pool
Located 57 floors above the ground it is possible to experience one of the world’s most amazing rooftop pools. We are able to swim on top of the world.
Stretching an impressive 150 meters across Sands Skypark, the outdoor Infinity Pool, designed by renowned architect Moshe Safdie is the world’s largest at this height and offers the best city-skyline view of a 5-star hotel in Singapore.
Whether we want to lounge or socialize, this Infinity Pool can offer all the pleasures of a hotel stay well-spent.
