Michael Bay´s mansion doesn´t disappoint and it has a hint of drama and it was a complex project and Bay said that everyone involved said this was the toughest thing they´ve ever built.
It was an architect of Miami who came up with the original idea for this project for the amazing space of 30,000 square-foot and three-story dwelling. Chad Oppenheim who recently received a fellowship status from the American Institute of Architects was the mind behind the concept of this mansion.
Bay wanted the house to feel like a resort since he is based in Miami and just wants this home for parties and relaxation during his trips to L.A. Chad really captured what Bay wanted because he looked at the first sketch the architect had made and he said right away: “That is the house i want!”.
For the interiors architect Mark Rios of L.A. firm Rios Clementi Hales Studios with the close help of decorator Lorraine Letendre created a beautiful and modern main living and bedroom spaces.
Designer Lynda Murray did the spa, gym, and guest quarters. To this work she had to involved contractors, engineers, artisans and consultants.
Bay added to this project a gaming software company to create a innovative and advanced digital model of the house. So first off Bay was able to see his house has a total and appreciate the sight lines, light conditions and space progressions like a player that is playing a game. Bay considers that when it comes to technology architects are working in the Dark Ages.
From the street the house makes no statement compared to many others it is a big house carved on the hillside and it is part of the view, it doesn´t disturb it. But when you look at it straight foward you see all its glory, its breathtaking! The quality of the house is noticeable when you see the two independent volumes balanced on top of the whole house that are one a bedroom for Bay and the other is for VIP guests.
It is a discreet mansion from the street but a blast if you have a closer look and it is situated in Bel Air. Michael Bay has is this home the perfect place for his parties and crazy moments in the L.A. fever!
