Archi Summit has returned to break the record! This sixth edition will include a three-day debate on the 13th, 14th, and 15th of July, with great names in national and international architecture, as well as a series of inspiring conferences and exhibitions on the subject. New ideas and innovative solutions have their own space in the technical exhibition all around the conference stage.
The Ford Palace will host the 6th edition of the Archi Summit on the 13th, 14th, and 15th of July, in Porto, Portugal, the city where the event was born. This old building used to be a Ford car stand and service center, and by the 1930s, it was located on Rua do Heroísmo, just a few meters from the building where the PIDE (Political Police during Portugal’s dictatorship) would later be installed.

The curators of the 6th edition of the Archi Summit are Francesco Moncada and Mafalda Rangel, a pair of architects by training who approach their work from different angles. They strive to blur the distinctions between interior and exterior, informality and formality, authenticity and globality, traditional and critical. They moved to Syracuse, Italy, after working in many countries including Portugal, Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Norway, Dubai, and Sweden. They form the Moncada Rangel studio, which defines its architectural practice as an exploration of the spectrum of the possible in a variety of contexts.

“Design has a significant impact on our planet. We have reached a tipping point, and everything we do today must change. Crises have always been the best conditions for stimulating creativity: a chance to rethink the design process and how to inhabit a no longer “fresh” planet. According to the word’s etymology, crisis means “OPTION” (krisis in ancient Greek). The scarcity of resources, combined with pressing environmental concerns, forces us to reconsider our practices and material usage. We have an opportunity to create a better future. Things have to change, and they have to change now!”
