Find out more about this project in this article by The Most Expensive Homes blog.
This amazing house designed by Pepe Calderin is a dream home in Miami, facing one of the city’s most opulent marinas and providing us with an incredible view! This house is in a quiet neighbourhood but is close to major corporate centres and nightlife hotspots, as well as gorgeous beaches. We may see the finest of both worlds by combining the elegance and brightness of Miami with the eccentricity of designer Pepe Calderin.
Pepe took on this challenge and designed this lovely home in Miami – “Creating this project was so much fun. This was project to think out of the box and to manifest how great and limitless a space can be. Being free and have an open mind and heart for every project is my main creative process. I open myself to the unknown.” — Pepe stated.
A brief tour of this house, which includes two children’s bedrooms and the master bedroom, as well as a kitchen, dining room, living room, family room, and office, reveals a cute playroom for children, a bar area with billiards, and a cinema. We can see that art is highly treasured throughout the house, as evidenced by statuettes, paintings, and furnishings that are genuine pieces of art. With international luxury brands such as Essential Home, DelightFULL, and Mid Century Club, all of the objects in this project were thoughtfully picked and are of great quality and workmanship.
Starting with the living area, we notice a large rug with a snake design that contrasts with the black of the Marco armchairs and the white of the Fitzgerald modular sofa, highlighting the golds of the centre table that give the room a luxurious feel. Fitzgerald was an excellent choice for this living room because it is totally flexible to the dimensions of the space, which is important because, unlike this property, modern homes have rooms that are getting smaller and smaller. It’s the ideal modular sofa for actual shape-shifting.
The new version of Studiopepe’s Fitzgerald couch is rounded and large, with a low backrest and a cockpit construction, and it’s modular in shape, colour, and design, delivering unparalleled individual comfort. The sectional module series, which is inspired by Italian architecture, may be built in nearly any shape for any area. “It’s hard to pick one favourite component from the fantastic election you have,” Pepe said when asked about his favourite part of the project. But first, let’s choose Fitzgerald Sofa.”
Dining Room
Gold tones dominate the dining area, which contrast with the black of the Collins dining chairs, as seen in the Lane suspension lamp by DelightFULL and the iconic Monocles sideboard by Essential Home. The Monocles, a piece rich in history and inspired by the Bond film, exudes a charm and refinement that no other piece can match. It’s the perfect piece for retro and Mid Century design fans, with sturdy walnut wood frames and plated brass legs.
“A space has no boundaries and has endless possibilities.” — Pepe Calderin
The kitchen is presented in golden tones, with red accents, making it modern and contemporary. Who wouldn’t want to spend time in this kitchen with Kelly bar chairs from Essential Home, which are popular sellers? It is an unforgettable worldwide item, inspired by the sculpted arches of the bar in the famous film Casablanca. In addition to being attractive, it was designed to be comfortable and to withstand long periods of sitting.
Family Room
A family room is a specialized space for socialization and enjoyment for the entire family. The beige tones with a touch of peach from the bench and armchairs is in the foreground, in lighter tones than we’ve seen. This room has a cleaner appearance and can accommodate the entire family in peace.
Master Bedroom
The master bedroom reveals a different setting than the common spaces we’ve seen so far, with darker and cleaner tones and less patterns and colours. Pepe chose a blue-toned palette with whites and gold accents. The Loren armchair from Essential Home, lighted by Gallianos suspension lamps, and the Karlotta armchair designed by Karim Rashid for Essential Home were also inspirations for this bed.
Finally, there’s the workplace, a more professional setting where you may shut the door on any household distractions. It’s a large office with two stunning statues made specifically for this project from scratch. The Minelli armchair, a classic-looking armchair that is both gorgeous and ageless, demonstrates that Mid-Century style hasn’t yet gone out of style.
