The renowned American actor, Matt Damon and his wife, Luciana Barroso are now proud owners of Brooklyn’s most expensive condo. The power couple purchased the premium six-bedroom penthouse that spans 6,201 square feet and rests atop the former Standish Arms Hotel in Brooklyn Heights. Today, the Most Expensive Homes blog will take a look at the outstanding interior design of this luxury real estate.
The penthouse, located in The Standish, a historic building, is comprised of several units and includes exquisite detailing, including Austrian white oak flooring, Bertazzoni Italia and Bosch appliances, freestanding tubs, rain showers, and Fantini fixtures.
The couple’s unit is one of 33 in the building. It was created by combining three smaller units in 2016 and features panoramic views of the East River, Statue of Liberty and Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Williamsburg bridges.
Initially, the property was valued $16.64 million but ended up being sold to Damon and Barroso for the sum of $16.74 million, ultimately beating the record set by a Cobble Hill townhouse at 177 Pacific Street. However, this condo may not hold this record for very long as the penthouse at Quay Tower is expected to approximately cost nearly $20 million.
