This project involved joining neighboring apartments on the top floor of a building on the south side of Eaton Square for an American businessman who was moving from one pied a terre to another and wanting a comfortable, unpretentious flat to stay while he worked on projects in the UK and Europe. We put together the team of architect and contractor before developing a decorative scheme based around his existing collection of furniture and pictures, and adding several new items of upholstery and antique furniture.
This apartment on the top two floors of a classic stucco terrace in Notting Hill was originally a three-bedroom apartment that had been converted and reconfigured several times, the staircase had been boxed in and the original details had been covered in an attempt to give a more contemporary feeling. We completely gutted the flat, revealing some very nice original details, replaced as much period molding as appropriate and made a three bed one bath into a very comfortable two bed, two bath. We supplied and detailed every aspect of the project form the front door color through to the egg cups.
The owner of this house, a glamorous young restauranteur with a past in the fashion industry asked us to help modernize her freshly purchased house on the edge of Victoria Park. After four months of construction where we reconfigured the ground floor, modernized the bathrooms and turned an attic bedroom into an archive and office for a considerable collection of vintage clothing we thoroughly redecorated using a distinctive palette and a collection of eclectic furniture and textiles.
