Imagined by the esteemed London-based architecture company, Foster & Partners, the Glass Tulip is set to become the newest and tallest skyscraper in London. The 1000-foot glass structure is assured to be a cultural center and public attraction and it will also feature ground-breaking sky bridges, gondola pod rides and incredible glass slides. Now, the Most Expensive Homes blog will talk a bit more about plans for this massive skyscraper that will be located at 30 St. Mary Axe, right next to The Gherkin.
Featuring an iconic design that takes the shape of a tulip, the luxurious skyscraper will also have plenty of restaurants with 360-degree panoramas of the city and a sky bar. If done correctly, the Tulip is bound to become the best tourist attraction in London, making the capital one of the best places to visit if you are looking for a more scenic programme.
Besides restaurants, the flower-shaped building will also feature a school, a sky-high educational facility which was developed with J. Safra group, among many other innovative teaching methods and elements.
Many cultural projects are expected to be found within the Tulip, such as a small public park with a rooftop garden. The Building was also imagined to have energy efficiency as the high-performance glass will be used to optimize or reduce energy consumption.
While it may not become a residence, the Tulip is an architectural gem that deserves to be talked about in our blog. As a whole, it will pass as an innovative hub for business, education and technology. The project is yet to be approved but if it is, in fact, construction will begin in 2020 and be completely finished in 2025.
